About the Ferrata
What is a Ferrata? + Other practical information.
It was opened in April 2014. Since then, a total of 16 different routes with various difficulty levels have been created. It is freely accessible and free of charge; you only pay for the rental of the necessary equipment (ferrata set).
According to the operating rules, beginners and inexperienced climbers may only climb when accompanied by an instructor (completing a ferrata course under the supervision of an accredited instructor – mountain guide, rock climbing instructor, or high-altitude specialist).
You can park in several places: at the parking lot near the nearby roundabout, at the parking lot under the Tyrš Bridge, or on the other bank of the Elbe by the library.
The Kocanda Restaurant boasts a large children's playground, Pilsner Urquell 12% tank beer, and excellent home-style cuisine.

Current Routes
( C / 3+ ) Suitable for experienced climbers. It is 150 meters long.
( C ) Suitable for experienced climbers and is 150 meters long. You can continue via the “Path to Heaven”, “Frona”, or “Charles Bridge” routes.
( C ) Suitable for beginners and inexperienced climbers. The route is 150 meters long.
( B / 2+ ) Suitable for beginners and inexperienced climbers. It is 150 meters long. You can finish via the “Path to Heaven” or “Frona” routes.
( B / 2+ ) Suitable for beginners and inexperienced climbers. It is 150 meters long. From here, you can switch to the challenging routes “Silver Will” or “Folly of the Mighty”, “Frona”, or the less demanding “Path to Heaven”, “Charles Bridge” and “Silent Tolerance”.
( E / 3 ) is one of the most difficult routes for very experienced climbers on Pastýřská stěna, 150 meters long, including a dominant chimney. Its time requirement is comparable to the others. To access it, you must first conquer “Hungry Pilgrim”.
( E ) One of the most difficult routes for very experienced climbers on the Pastýřská stěna ferrata, with a slight overhang of about 25m, requiring physical endurance for arm-hanging.
( D ) Suitable for experienced climbers. It is x meters long. Features the technically most difficult overhang. You can continue via the “Path to Heaven”, “Frona”, or across “Charles Bridge” to “Silent Tolerance”.
( E) Suitable for experienced climbers. It is 150 meters long. Consider the ascent carefully; it has the most falls. Psychologically the most difficult overhang. To access it, you must conquer one of the six approach routes.
( B ) Suitable for beginners and inexperienced climbers. A 12-meter long steel bridge connecting the start of the “Frona” route with the “Path to Heaven”, with a difficulty of
( E / 2+ ) is one of the most difficult routes for very experienced climbers on Pastýřská stěna E. It leads to the top of Pastýřská stěna, with the possibility of extension via “Aerial Ballet”.
( A/B ) Suitable for beginners and inexperienced climbers. It is the easiest route on Pastýřská stěna. Although it is a connecting route and measures 150 meters, you must first reach the top.
( D ) Suitable for experienced climbers. It is x meters long. Although most of the route is category C, 3 meters have a difficulty of D due to a slight overhang.
( D ) Suitable for experienced climbers. At x meters, it is the longest route on Pastýřská stěna. It is intended for experienced climbers.
( E ) Suitable for experienced climbers. Overhang in traverse
( C + ) Suitable for experienced climbers. An exit route from the flag with a small overhang. Not to be underestimated. Beginners, please use the “Path to Heaven” with the start down below “Frona” or possibly “Charles Bridge”
History
Safety
Safety is our number one priority.
For safety reasons, climbing is prohibited if it is raining or if the wall is wet. It is suitable for physically fit individuals without climbing experience and can be managed by athletic children.
Sportswear (knees preferably covered), non-slip shoes (no sandals or flip-flops), ferrata gloves (new ones can be purchased for 500 CZK), a small backpack (with waist or chest strap) for belongings, a drink (ideally 0.5L), and a sweet snack bar.
Admission to the Ferrata is free.
A complete Ferrata set can be rented at Active Point Děčín for 250 CZK/day.
