Where to park?

You can park in several places:

If you arrived by car and only plan on climbing, you will certainly appreciate the Pastýřská stěna Restaurant, where you can reward yourself accordingly.
If you arrived by bike, it’s definitely worth visiting the Kocanda Restaurant in Děčín, located directly on the Elbe Cycle Path just 5 minutes from the city center. Kocanda also boasts a large children’s playground that no other nearby can compete with.
If you’re planning a longer stay or are from far away, don’t hesitate to book a room here, as Kocanda is a good starting point for many other trips.

Entry to the via ferrata is free.

A complete ferrata set (ferrata set with energy absorber, sit and chest harness, helmet, gloves) can be rented for a fee, but a refundable deposit of 500 CZK is required.

Current prices and an overview of equipment can be found on the ACTIVE POINT website.

Traffic Light Update
The page must be refreshed for the traffic light to be accurate. (click to refresh)
Ferrata closed

The ferrata closes at night - controlled by a sensor (it only controls the traffic light at the ferrata, which takes precedence over the traffic lights on the website and in apps). A characteristic of sandstone is that when it is wet or damp, it cracks or crumbles due to its fragility. Safety anchors can be damaged. For this reason, the ferrata is periodically closed even during the summer season. Please respect this. Violating the entry ban is fined by the Municipal Police. In good weather (sun and wind), the ferrata usually reopens within 12 to 24 hours.

Preparing to open

This status announced by the administrator indicates that, unless there is an unexpected change in weather, it will be open in approximately one to two hours. I.e., it is in the pre-drying stage.

Ferrata open

The ferrata is open. Climbing is permitted. Attention!!! If you are traveling from a distant location, for example more than an hour away, check the weather forecast carefully. The ferrata traffic light is managed directly by its administrator, but that doesn't mean it can't rain in an hour, and as proper mountaineers, you have to keep an eye on that yourselves.

Winter closure Nov 1 – March 31
